| Sarasota Cataract & Laser Institute and Center for Advanced Eye Surgery are among the worlds most advanced treatment and research facilities. Institute Founder and Medical Director Dr. Harry B. Grabow performs thousands of cataract, implant, laser and refractive surgery procedures each year, further establishing his reputation as one of Americas most experienced eye surgeons.
The Institute conducts leading-edge research, including Federal Drug Administration (FDA) studies of new products and techniques. This state-of-the-art facility hosts numerous surgeons each year who travel from all over the world to learn Dr. Grabows techniques.
Dr. Grabow has been in private practice since 1976. He founded the Sarasota Cataract Institute in 1984, which became the Sarasota Cataract & Laser Institute to reflect the addition of laser services.
Opened in October 1994, The Center for Advanced Eye Surgery is a state-of-the-art, free standing ambulatory surgery center where a number of local surgeons perform a variety of surgical procedures including, cataract surgery, corneal surgery, glaucoma surgery, and ocular plastic surgery.

Courtesy Van Service
The Sarasota Cataract & Laser Institute provides pick-up and drop-off service to those patients who have no other means of transportation.
The Institutes van cannot accommodate wheelchairs and individuals must be able to step into and off of the van with minimal assistance. Patients using our courtesy van service are required to be ready for pick up one hour before the scheduled appointment.
Boundaries for the van service are as follows: north to University Parkway, south to Sarasota Square Mall, west to the bridges, and east to I-75.
Certification by the American Board of Eye Surgery (ABES)
