A board certified optometric physician, Dr. Julie K. Porter graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois and summa cum laude with a Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She did her residency in ocular disease at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.

A native of Lansing, Ill., Dr. Porter was named Clinician of the Year by the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and received the college’s Alumni Association Award. Honors include a Travel Fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry and the Alcon Contact Lens Practice Award.

Dr. Porter provides optometric services adjacent to Eyewear Artistry at the Brickyard Plaza in Venice and at the Venice location of the Sarasota Retina Institute.
